Integrated Supply Chain Solution

 
GLD Solutions provides an integrated environment for our customers to process orders within one or more ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and generate shipments against those orders.  Our Global Transportation Management System (GTMS®) product combines compliance trade capabilities with inbound (receiving) and outbound shipping capabilities.  The GTMS system is integrated into warehouse management systems for shipping and receiving.  For inbound (purchase order driven) shipments, the buyer has control on which carrier is selected for use and when delivery is allowed.  For outbound (customer orders) shipments, the sales force, customer and the logistics department controls which carriers are used.
 
Cost Effective
 
This application provides the shipping users with a single user interface for all carriers.  The user has only one application to learn and all shipments regardless of the carrier are integrated into the business financial (ERP) system.  GTMS’s capability reduces shipment processing by hundreds of hours yearly for our customers.  The need for having a single system for processing shipments is of upmost importance to the shipping operations.  Cost savings achieved by using the GTMS system reduces labor costs by at least 50%.
 
Quick Payback
 
GTMS provides for low integration costs, low license fees with transaction costs as you use various portions of the GTMS solution. Typical Return-On-Investment (ROI) for the entire GTMS system is less than three months.
 
Freight Cost Control
 
While the system does allow for rate shopping, over the last eight years, less than 5% of all shipments are rate shopped.  The financial system dictates the carrier selection process and carrier selection is controlled by larger logistics groups.
 
Volume
 
This system generates more than 300,000 shipments per year at an annual freight cost of $500 million.  Total shipments processed to date are $3.0 billion freight dollars and over 1.5 million shipments.  Shipments range from letters to shipments above 10,000 lbs.  The user can process a shipment within three to five seconds of receiving the shipment documentation.  All shipment information is directly integrated into the ERP systems for automatic revenue invoice generation.   Revenue invoicing errors are significantly reduced and time to generate the revenue invoices is dramatically improved.
 
Integrated System
 
This system utilizes a client/server implementation and is not utilized via the web.  All customers have this system integrated within their business operations.  This system is NOT designed as a standalone shipping solution. The benefits of this system are for integration with the rest of the business applications and communicating freight information to many parties simultaneously within and outside of the business.
 
Global Solution
 
GTMS is spread across many servers within a corporate structure.  The system takes advantage of large scale businesses with multiple production facilities located on a global basis.  Currently the system ships from United States, Canada and Mexico and with recipients in over 150 countries.  Future implementations are being completed for shipments from Europe, former Soviet countries, South America, Australia and the Far East.  All data is continuously migrated to one or more corporate servers as shipments occur with each production facility.  This is a multi-server integrated real-time global solution.

GTMS supports parcel, postal, less-than-truckload, truckload, multiple shipment drops, less than container, container load, air, ocean, rail, hot-shot, courier, freight forwarding, brokering, and multiple user defined cross docking capabilities.
 
International Solution
 
The GTMS system operates across multiple currencies, multiple units of measures and across multiple languages.
 
Affordable freight costs for Customers
 
GTMS has a Universal Tariff Engine™ (UTE) which allows all carrier based rates, routing information, accessorials and shipment rules to be loaded into multiple widely distributed SQL database servers.  This system includes the capability of list rates, preferred customer rates, discounted rates, hundred weight, volume (earned value), and consolidate rates with effectivity and expiration dates. 
 
High Performance Rating
 
The rating and routing capabilities of the UTE has outperformed the capabilities of the largest freight delivery companies and is being used where the larger company products can’t be used. Freight rates for specific carriers and services are calculated within micro seconds from any origin to any destination.
 
Capabilities

Real-Time Knowledge
 
The primary purpose is to maintain control of products being shipped within an organization and report that information to the executives on a real time basis.  The system is designed to optimize dock performance (receiving and distribution) and improve data reliability and access speed for a variety of organizational groups (sales, marketing, inventory, management, and etc.).  The sales force has immediate instantaneous real-time knowledge of order, item, shipment quantities and detailed shipment information.
 
Use Your Contracted Freight Rates
 
Our customers provide GLD Solutions with the current contracted rate documents for shipping within the carrier’s environment.  GLD Solutions integrates those rates based upon the supplied documents into the GTMS system. Many of our customers have negotiated contracts with the major carriers and will not be utilizing standard list rates.
 
Connectivity
 
Connectivity to external systems can be accomplished via a variety of methods.  These include http, ftp, ODBC, web services or any other (EAI, EDI) means of data transfer.  The system is extremely flexible due to the systems’ designed capabilities to work with multiple external entities including freight forwarders, brokers, government agencies (CBP, AES Direct), carriers and consignees.
 
Reduce Your IT Costs – Improve Reliability
 
GLD Solutions continuously manages the complete shipping software and hardware solution on behalf of our customers.  Our IT support staff along with the systems’ built-in capabilities continuously monitors the client’s environment from server processing to networking speeds or issues, including individual hardware items (such as scanners, PC’s, printers, label printers) used within the shipping/receiving dock.  GLD Solutions is aware of a customers’ problem most generally minutes to hours before client experiences an issue.  Many problems can be automatically overcome without shipping or receiving dock performance degradation.
 
Carrier Integrated
 
GLD Solutions uploads the freight information directly to the carriers for immediate identification of freight, weights, dimensions, origins and destinations that is being processed at the production or warehouse facility. The entire system is real time.
 
Never Be Out of Sync
 
As changes (rates, routes, rules, accessorials, interfaces, and etc.) are implemented by various carriers, based upon our software maintenance agreement with our customers, GLD Solutions performs the necessary upgrades on the shipping system to keep shippers up to date with the latest carrier changes.
 
Traceability
 
GLD Solutions currently utilizes the tracking capabilities provided via a direct connect to the shipment tracking on carrier’s web site utilizing the necessary customer access security in place between the carrier and shipper (consignee).
 
Validated
 
Address validation is provided for within the GTMS system free of charge to our customers.
 
Compliance Checks
 
The GTMS Compliance module validates end users, product end use, product harmonize codes, export licenses, countries of origins and other key data elements to provide an quick shipping solution for our customers.
 
Standard and Customized Documentation
 
GTMS provides all of the necessary local and international documentation customized to the clients’ business requirements or the system can use standard commercial documentation standards.
