Supply Chain Operations Reference Model and GTMS

The Supply Chain Operations Reference Model shown above is a product of the Supply Chain Council (www.supply-chain.org). This model represents integration needed to create a sustainable supply chain and meet customer demands while improving your company’s bottom line profits.
GLD Solutions developed the GTMS suite of products to fulfill this requirement across multiple organizations. Two methods can be used to implement such as model. The first requires significant investment in time and energy to coordinate the efforts of all entities involved in the supply chain. The second is a system that coordinates the process across multiple organizations without the need for high investments or extensive use personnel resources.
One GTMS implementation is linked to other GTMS implementations automatically. Transfer of information from Delivery to Receiving is integral part of the GTMS systems. Shipments sent from a supplier is immediately identified in the receiving system as being shipped along with all of the necessary carrier, tracking details, shipment weight, order, item, part, quantity, quality and documentation. Documents included are Packing Lists, Commercial/Proforma Invoices, Shippers’ Letter of Instructions, Hazardous Material forms, Customs forms and other shipment related documents. The information provided between GTMS systems contains triple  the amount of information contained in a normal EDI transaction. The data transfer is secure, does not require special translation steps, is immediate, and is automatically shared with carrier or 3PL companies.
GTMS can be loosely integrated with suppliers utilizing the GTMS SupplierShip web based shipping solution or tightly integrated using GTMS Ship shipping solution. The SupplierShip product does not require any special installation requirements on the supplier side but has full integration into the receiving company’s systems. GTMS SupplierShip allows buyers the ability to control how products are delivered, the quantity of items to be shipped, when the items are to be delivered and to where the items are to be delivered. Once received the entire shipment is automatically received into the buyer’s system. The only process the receiving department has to do is validate the item counts and place into the warehouse. Quality information would have been received during the delivery process.
GTMS Ship is tightly integrated into the shipper’s system (ERP, MRP, or legacy financial systems) and allows the shipments to be made with complete control over the carriers utilized. Freight and handling costs are automatically included for product invoicing at the time of shipment. Freight and handling charges are part of the commercial invoice documents generated at shipment time.
GTMS Suite of products takes the time, effort and cost out of the Supply Chain Operations Reference Model. GTMS Suite is based upon Software as a Service (SaaS) for the supply chain which means our customers only pay for what is used when it is used. This means no up-front licensing or annual maintenance fees to utilize the systems complete capabilities. (GTMS is the first SaaS software registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.)
