SupplierShip is used for suppliers that are not considering integration of a shipping solution within their organization but the buyer still needs control over how the goods are being delivered. The buyer has control over the quantity of the items to be delivered and the timing when they can be shipped from the supplier’s facilities or warehouse. The buyer can assign specific carriers and service modes for the delivery process. Buyers can split an ordered item into two shipment quantities with two different modes of delivery where it is necessary to keep assembly lines operational.
When the supplier completes the shipment, the receiving department will be notified on future receipts to be expecting and provide the necessary resources to receive the goods. Staffing levels can be coordinated based upon the number of items scheduled for delivery in a single shipping day.
GTMS SupplierShip is fully integrated with the buyer’s purchase order system whereby controlling the order fulfillment by the supplier. Upon receipt, shipments processed through SupplierShip are automatically received into the receiving dock by scanning the receiving shipment label. The receiving dock will be required to review the contents for quantity to validate the supplier processed the appropriate order quantities. High priority orders can be quickly and easily be rushed into a production facility with minimal receiving dock intervention.
