Multi-segment Shipping

GTMS Outbound Shipping can create a single shipment that utilizes multiple carriers to move the goods from an origin to a destination. Each move by a carrier is considered a single segment. Multiple segments can be combined to complete a shipment from origin, through cross-docks, air, ground, ocean, rail, freight forwarders, brokers and customs to the ultimate destination. Each segment has an associated freight cost and a transit/handling time.

Cost Effective Shipments

Outbound Shipping utilizes a "BestWay" rating process to select the appropriate carrier(s), service(s) and route (single or multiple segments) to deliver the goods based upon any of the following customer establed criteria:

Cost
Performance

Delivery
Consolidation

The shipping operator has the option of choosing a different prime carrier and/or service.

Order Retrieval

Outbound shipping can retrieve order information using "Pick-Pick Confirm"; "Serialized Products"; or the "Order/Item" methods. GTMS maintains a copy of the order information for each shipment and which can consist of the following:

Multiple addresses - 30 addresses and types*
Multiple orders
Multiple order line items
Multiple products and details for each line item
Export control information*
Shipment authorization**
Merge-In-Transit**
Hazardous Material*
Carrier and Freight Services or "BestWay"
